In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to design and build your own custom wooden bookshelf using basic woodworking tools and techniques. Perfect for beginners and intermediate DIYers alike, this workshop covers measuring and cutting lumber, drilling, assembly, sanding, and finishing. Participants will leave with a sturdy, functional bookshelf and the skills to tackle future woodworking projects with confidence. Forget IKEA and other cheap flat pack furniture, learn to build a quality bookcase and gain some new skills! All tools and materials are provided.
All participants will be able to walk away with a 24″ W x 10″D x 46″ H bookcase, crafted from cabinet grade wood. We will do our best to accommodate small adjustments (lower, wider, more shelves).
This is a hands-on class – so get ready to get your hands dirty and try something new at the West Philly Tool Library!
