Located along JFK Boulevard between 3001 and 3025 JFK, directly beneath the elevated rail line, Highline Park transforms a previously overlooked stretch into a vibrant public green space at the heart of Schuylkill Yards. While privately managed, the park is open to everyone — welcoming residents, workers, students, commuters, and visitors to relax, recharge, and gather.

The Story Behind the Park:
Once a stretch of asphalt beneath the elevated rail line, Highline Park has been transformed into a vibrant green space that brings nature, art, and community together at the center of Schuylkill Yards. At the heart of the park is Galaxyscape Zone, a striking sculpture by West Philadelphia artist Anthony Bayne, Sr. Originally crafted outside his garage on 51st and Chestnut, the piece was acquired for permanent public display, giving the community a one-of-a-kind focal point and celebrating local artistry.
Highline Park’s creation reflects a broader commitment to equitable development. The landscaping was installed in partnership with University City District’s Green City Works, a social enterprise that provides meaningful employment to residents, including individuals facing barriers to traditional job markets. This collaboration not only shaped the park but continues to support long-term workforce opportunities in the neighborhood.
