The Story Behind the Park:

Developed in collaboration with Mural Arts Philadelphia, Best Philly: Mural Row embraces the neighborhood mantra “West is Best.” Each mural reflects a different facet of life in West Philadelphia—from groundbreaking medical research to everyday moments of care and connection.

The artists—Manuela Guillén, Akira Gordon, Cindy Lozito, Branche Coverdale, Isabella Akhtarshenas, and Dora Cuenca—bring diverse styles and stories to the walls, but together, they create a unified visual statement about the past, present, and future of Schuylkill Yards. The result is more than a series of murals—it’s a celebration of local identity, seen through the eyes of the people who know it best.
