The Story Behind the Park:

David Guinn is one of Philadelphia’s most prominent muralists, known for transforming blank walls into storytelling landmarks that reflect the character of their surroundings. With a style that blends bold geometry and natural elements, his work is designed to engage directly with the urban environment.

For Schuylkill Falls, Guinn drew inspiration from the movement and energy of the Schuylkill River, the Fairmount Dam, and the geometric landscaping of Highline Park just across the street. The mural incorporates motion-responsive lighting that activates as people walk by, creating an ever-changing visual experience that mirrors the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s a seamless fusion of art, technology, and place—anchoring Schuylkill Yards at the intersection of creativity and innovation.
