Dylan Band’s music is fully representative of his experiences growing up in Philadelphia. As a teenager, Band studied at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts as well as with Larry Mckenna. He continued his education at Temple University to study with Terell Stafford, Tim Warfield, and Dick Oatts. He received both his Bachelors’ (BM ‘20) and Masters’ (MM ‘22) Degrees in Music Performance.
This education has allowed Dylan opportunities to play with Christian McBride, Joey Defranceso, Rodney Green, and George Burton. He has performed in ensembles such as the Mid Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra, the Pennsylvania All-State Jazz Ensemble, and the award-winning Temple University Jazz Band. He has performed in venues such as the Kimmel Center, the Kennedy Center, Rose Hall, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, The Appel Room, and Smalls Jazz Club.
